Investigation of discharge coefficient of louvre openings in naturally ventilated buildings

Louvre openings are widely used for ventilation in residences at tropical regions. Traditional households rely primarily on natural cooling instead of using air conditioners throughout the year. Hence, a design strategy that maximizes rate with an accurate discharge coefficient is necessary. The traditional window without louvre 0.6. However, studies coefficients sashes lacking. Discharge will differ according to installed sash owing increased contraction and friction losses. Therefore, we determined value various angles impact geometric parameter coefficient. To investigate effects geometry coefficient, real-time was quantified tracer gas (constant concentration) method. Pressure difference, outdoor wind velocity, temperature difference were also measured. opening types divided into three cases: louvres angle 0°, 15°, 30° similar areas. results show 0.80, 0.62, 0.41, respectively, indicating decreases increasing angle.
